‘January is the new December’ we heard from people around baseball. It took nearly three weeks, but we are finally getting some offseason news to chat about.
On Tuesday, the Blue Jays reportedly signed free-agent outfielder George Springer to a six-year, $150 million deal. Toronto also found a closer, signing Kirby Yates to a one-year deal as well. Free-agent lefty Jose Quintana inked an $8 million deal with the Angels for the 2021 season.

Springer is headed to Dunedin for a physical. And if all goes according to plan, Toronto will get the star it’s been looking for all winter.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any more activity in St. Louis in the free-agent market.. but we can hope we hear something soon.
Have a good day!
