Halfway through the month of January, and we still don’t know where Yadier Molina will play baseball at for this 2021 season. After Thursday’s news, nonetheless, there’s some uncertainty as to if he will play baseball in 2021.

“Getting ready as always and God will tell,” Molina told Cardinals Spanish broadcaster Polo Ascensio. “If God wants me to come back, then I’ll come back. And if not, I will retire happy with my head held high.”

Yadi debuted with the Cardinals in 2004 and, as we know, has spent his entire career to this point in St. Louis, serving as a key piece of the team’s 2006 and 2011 World Series titles.

In other MLB free agent news, the Yankees signed infielder DJ LeMahieu to a six-year, $90 million deal, and the Mets are finalizing a deal with reliever Brad Hand.

Have a good weekend!
