Good morning, everyone! Happy Friday. We have two potential clinch games on tap for today, with the Rays and Braves both just a win away from advancing to the World Series.
Braves 10, Dodgers 2; Series 3-1 ATL - In response to the Dodgers’ 15-run outburst on Wednesday, the Braves put up 10 runs on Thursday to defeat Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers by a 10-2 final score. Marcell Ozuna had a huge night, going 4-for-5 with two homers and a double. Ronald Acuna Jr., Freddie Freeman, and Ozzie Albies also had two hits apiece. Atlanta rookie Bryse Wilson sure helped make a name for himself on Thursday, as he tossed six innings of one-ball. On the other side, Kershaw went five-plus innings with four runs (all earned) on seven hits. The Dodgers mustered just three hits on Thursday.
Astros 4, Rays 3; Series 3-2 TB - On Thursday, the Astros became the first team in Postseason history to hit a leadoff home run and a walk-off home run; thank you, George Springer and Carlos Correa, respectively. Ji-Man Choi tied the game with a home run in the top of the eighth, and Brandon Lowe and Randy Arozarena homered earlier for the Rays. For Correa it upped him to a .342 average with six home runs and a 1.272 OPS for the 2020 Postseason.
Framber Valdez and Blake Snell will get the starting assignments for the Astros-Rays Game 6 on Friday, set for a 5:07 PM CT start. Dustin May will go for the Dodgers, and the Braves have not announced their starter at this time. The Dodgers-Braves Game 5 will get underway around 8:08 PM.
Enjoy your Friday!
