Look. The Cardinals are up 1.5 games on Brewers. The Cardinals are idle tonight while the Brewers play in Cincinnati. On Friday the Cardinals will either be one game up on the Brewers with three to play or two games up with three to play. They could certainly blow it — the outcome of the Brewer’s game tonight will play a large impact in that. The Brewers have to win every game and by the way they are playing, they might. It is better to be chased than to be chasing, though, and the playoff odds show that:
Per @fangraphs, current NL Central Odds:
— Chris Hrabe (@chrabe) September 26, 2019
Cardinals (90-69): 88.4% Win Division
Brewers (87-70): 11.6% Win Division
The Brewers went on to win after that tweet posted making their record 88-70 and increasing their odds to win the division to 18.4% per Fangraphs.
It is far from a lock, but the season is coming to a close and the Cardinals have something to play for — that and we know Cardinals baseball won’t be over when the season ends. It should be fun!
