FanPost Friday: Do you think the Cardinals are the best team in the National League?

MLB: Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

A sweep of the Brewers this week to extend their winning streak to five games has lifted the Cardinals to a 15-9 record as we enter the weekend. St. Louis’s .625 winning percentage is the best in the National League.

The Cardinals are one of only three teams in the game with a run differential greater than +30; the Rays have a +40, the Cardinals have a +33, and the Yankees have a +31. At the start of play on Friday, the Cardinals are one of just two clubs to have more than one player with at least nine homers, thanks to Paul Goldschmidt and Marcell Ozuna. The Dodgers are the other team, with Cody Bellinger’s 12 and Joc Pederson’s 10 homers.

St. Louis has allowed the second-most home runs in the Majors as a pitching staff with 46; the Orioles lead with 59 given up. Nonetheless, the Cardinals have held opponents to a .229 batting average that is the third-lowest in the league, behind the Giants at .221 and Pirates at .224.

So, I’m curious to see what your thoughts are. Do you think the Cardinals are the best team in the National League? If so, is this something the team can maintain throughout the summer? If you aren’t convinced that they are the best in the league, what would you do to this current team to take it to the top?
