Today, we continue our 2019 Viva El Birdos Community Projections series with Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader.
Catch up on our first week of projections!
Bader, who will turn 25 years old in June, is entering his fifth season in the organization and is poised to receive his first spot on St. Louis’s Opening Day roster this year. Bader is in line to be the everyday center fielder, a spot he penned himself in last summer.
In 2018, Bader played in 139 games for the Cardinals. He was named to the Baseball America Major League All-Rookie Team and earned the MLBPAA Heart and Hustle Award. Across 427 plate appearances, Bader had exactly 100 hits, slashing .264/.334/.422 with 20 doubles, two triples, and 12 home runs. Bader also led the team with 15 stolen bases, trailed by Tommy Pham’s 10 and Kolten Wong’s half-dozen swiped bags.
You’ve seen him run. You’ve seen him play the field. You’ve seen him rake. How do you see Bader performing at the plate in 2019? Now is your chance to tell us!
