FanPost Friday: Is a Big Season Coming for Kolten Wong?

Happy Opening Week!

The Cardinals opened their 2019 season yesterday at Miller Park in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Though the Cardinals lost, a positive takeaway from Thursday’s game came from second baseman Kolten Wong. Wong hit two home runs and drove in three of the team’s four runs.

With his two-homer day, Wong joined former Cardinal Albert Pujols the only two in team history to have more than one long ball in the first game of the season. The defense is there and has been for some time; with Wong, it is the bat that often leaves some to be desired. We can hope Thursday was a glimpse at what is to come for Wong this season.

So, here is your assignment for the day: How do you see the 2019 season shaping up for Kolten Wong? Will he be able to tie it all together - maybe even make the All-Star team? Is a Gold Glove or Silver Slugger coming up at season’s end?

Yes, we’re playing with a microscopically small sample size. Have fun with it. Tell us how you feel about Wong in a FanPost for the site.
