Here’s a rundown of how Cardinals fans are feeling as the 2019 season commences!

MLB: Cincinnati Reds at St. Louis Cardinals Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Cardinals fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

Earlier this week, Cardinals fans were given a brief survey on the team. They were first asked if they thought the Cardinals would win the 2019 World Series, and 56% of them believe they will!

St. Louis has missed the playoffs the last three years and finished with an 88-74 record that landed them third in the National League Central, trailing the Brewers and Cubs. The fans must have confidence in the team’s offseason acquisitions, returning veterans, and resculpted coaching staff. (Speaking of the coaching staff..)

Fans who participated in this questionnaire were also asked about the following topics, and their responses are shared below.

Do you approve of the job Mike Shildt is doing?

96% Yes

4% No

Are you confident in the direction of the Cardinals?

96% Yes

4% No

With over half of fans believing a World Series title is in store for the 2019 Cardinals, it makes sense that there is a common air of confidence among the group of questioned fans when it comes to the manager and general direction of the team.

St. Louis secured Shildt as their manager through the 2020 season back in August after the team went 26-12 after he took over in mid-July through late August - when the team decided to remove his ‘interim’ tag.
