Research Help Needed

I was thinking about the recent DH in the NL talk and thinking about the line of reasoning from the players union perspective that says that a DH spot on the roster would presumably add 15 more multi-millionaires to the pool and a rising tide raises all boats.

Here is my request to those in the VEB universe who know how to sort out such things: I'd like to see what the average is for the NL compared to the AL for how many players get MLB active roster time per season. Maybe over the last 5-10 years.

The reason I would like to know this is because I wonder if the non-dh pitching scenario makes it so that the NL teams use more players over the course of a season. Maybe they don't. But if they do, I wonder if that is something that would factor into the players union reasoning for the DH.

Thank you!
