Checking out how the team’s youngest rotation member is projected for his first full season in the Majors

Today, the VEB Community Projections for Luke Weaver are released.

Weaver dazzled at Triple-A Memphis last year, going 10-2 with a 2.55 ERA across 15 starts for the Redbirds. This eventually led to Weaver getting a big-league rotation gig, and he did not disappoint.

In 13 games (10 starts) for St. Louis in 2017, Weaver was 7-2 with a 3.88 ERA and 3.17 FIP over 60 1⁄3 innings. While limiting opponents to a .254 batting average with seven homers, Weaver maintained 10.79 K/9 and 2.54 BB/9 rates.

Weaver seems poised to be an integral part of the Cardinals’ rotation for the 2018 season. Entering his age 24 season, the 2014 first-rounder Weaver will begin the year in the Majors for the first time.
