2018 VEB Community Projections: Luke Weaver

Entering what will be his first full season in the Majors, how will Weaver fare in 2018?

Today, the Viva El Birdos 2018 Community Projections series continues with right-handed pitcher Luke Weaver.

Weaver dazzled at Triple-A Memphis last year, going 10-2 with a 2.55 ERA across 15 starts for the Redbirds. This eventually led to Weaver getting a big-league rotation gig, and he did not disappoint.

In 13 games (10 starts) for St. Louis in 2017, Weaver was 7-2 with a 3.88 ERA and 3.17 FIP over 60 13 innings. While limiting opponents to a .254 batting average with seven homers, Weaver maintained 10.79 K/9 and 2.54 BB/9 rates.

Weaver seems poised to be an integral part of the Cardinals’ rotation for the 2018 season. Entering his age 24 season, the 2014 first-rounder Weaver will begin the year in the Majors for the first time.

It is now your turn to share how you feel Weaver will fare on the mound this season. Fill out the form below, submit it, and check back regularly to view the projection results.
