Last week, on Valentine’s Day, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released a limited edition ‘Rally Cat’ bobblehead, featuring the famous (or infamous?) feline that ran across the Busch Stadium playing field on August 9, 2017. After the cat was corralled, Yadier Molina hit the next pitch he saw in to the right field seats for a grand slam, and the Rally Cat was born.
A mere three days after the event, there were already t-shirts, plush toys, posters - you name it - featuring cats available for purchase at various team stores around the stadium. Although the team ultimately fell short in adopting the cat, fans still adored cute kitten. Their passion is still alive, as the bobblehead sold out last week, too, on the day it was released.
The bobblehead, as noted in a press release by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, is the only officially licensed bobblehead to feature the Rally Cat. As you can see in the picture, the cat is sporting Cardinals gear. The first edition of the bobblehead features a white Cardinals jersey. With the original bobblehead selling out, a similar model was released for pre-order - the latest one is the Rally Cat donning a red Cardinals jersey!
