My feelings on the 2018 Cardinals

I watched like 150 games, so it can't have been that bad. But most of my memories are slightly negative ones. Do I get excited at Matt Carpenter's mid-season explosion or sad about his being colder than cold at the beginning and end? Do I get excited that they finally got rid of Mike Matheny or sad that it took them 6 often miserable seasons to do so?

Lots of frustration, simple errors and a lack of consistency, is the thing I'll remember about the 2018 Cardinals.

I think I'm mostly tired of the internet, though. I've lost count of the number of times I've read "well, the Cardinals were 3rd in the NL by this metric" as if by finding something the Cardinals were good at will wipe the memory of having actually watched the games from my mind. The hostility towards people who want the Cardinals to spend money, as if it's better to be average with an average payroll than it is to be great with a large payroll. The endless hostility towards anyone who thinks, well, maybe those 2nd year guys will be more Randal Grichuk than Mike Trout
