Here’s a quick rundown of the weekend farm happenings:

Cardinals Farm Journal: Week of 8/20-26

-Austin Gomber continued a wonderful August with seven innings of one-run ball on Saturday against the Drillers to improve to 10-7 with Springfield. In August, Gomber owns a 0.80 earned run average in 33 23 innings — five starts.

-Frederis Parra was nails for the Chiefs this weekend, logging seven shutout frames with seven punchouts against the Kane County Cougars. Similar can be stated about Evan Kruczynksi, who allowed just one run over as seven frames with eight strikeouts.

-Spikes starter Andrew Summerville limited the Crosscutters to one hit in his seven splendid innings on Friday. Summerville struck out seven and walked two, but he helped erase the traffic by picking off two runners.

-Kevin Siegrist threw one scoreless inning in his rehab ‘start’ for Palm Beach on Saturday against the St. Lucie Mets. Connor Jones came up with seven innings of one-run ‘relief’ to earn his eighth win of the season.

-Speedy outfielder Magneuris Sierra went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and reached on an error in Sunday’s game. Making the Drillers pay, Sierra swiped two bags, his 15th and 16th steals of the year with Springfield.

-Zac Gallen took a tough-luck loss on Friday with six innings of two-run (one earned) ball for Palm Beach.

-Redbirds second baseman Aledmys Diaz drove in three runs with a double on Sunday in Memphis’ 4-3 win over the Cubs.

-In what was an overall- solid pitching weekend throughout the farm system, Johnson City starter Jacob Schlesener was one of few exceptions. Schlesener was able to record just two hits, allowing four runs - all earned - on three hits and four walks in Sunday’s 10-3 loss to the Rays.

-Cardinals first baseman Jacob Wilson, third baseman Darren Seferina, and catcher Andrew Kninzer each drove in two in Saturday’s 8-3 win over the Drillers.

-Chiefs first baseman Stefan Trosclair came up big with a walkoff single in the 10th inning of Sunday’s wild 7-6 win over Kane County. On the day overall, Trosclair went 2-for-4 with a homer and three runs batted in, including one on a sacrifice fly. Trosclair also went deep on Saturday.
