Memphis 6, Round Rock 4

  • Nick Martini - 1-4, R, HR, 2 RBI, BB, 2 K
  • Chad Huffman - 1-5, R, 2B, K
  • Aledmys Diaz - 0-5, K
  • Harrison Bader - 1-5, R, HR, RBI, K

  • Marco Gonzales - (W) 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 6 K
  • Miguel Socolovich - 1.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 BB, K

Jose Adolis Garcia is absolutely raking since being promoted to AAA. In 6 games since his promotion he is 10-20 .500/.524/.700/1.224 with 1 HR and 1 double. Harrison Bader went deep for the 16th time this season. Marco Gonzales continues to pitch well in the PCL. As long as he stays healthy, he could provide the Cardinals with a much needed boost in September.

Midland 3, Springfield 5

  • Magneuris Sierra - 1-5
  • Kolten Wong - 2-3, R, 2B
  • Bruce Caldwell - 1-3, R, HR, 3 RBI, 2 K

  • Andrew Knizner - 2-4, R, HR, 2 RBI
  • Tommy Edman - 3-4
  • Matt Pearce - (W) 7.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 7 K

Can’t wait to have Kolten Wong back in the Bigs. He’s been one of the Cardinals most consistent performers and he’s been a big loss. Randy Arozarena is 1-10 in 3 games at AA. Tommy Edman’s 3 hits raised his average to .200 at AA.

Bradenton 2, Palm Beach 3

  • Lane Thomas - 2-7, K

  • Ryan Helsley - 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, BB, 7 K
  • Austin Warner - (W) 3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K

Palm Beach walked off in a 14-inning thriller. Leobaldo Pina had the winning hit. Ryan Helsley looks like he’s ready for a new challenge. The Palm Beach bullpen pitched 8 innings of shutout baseball en route to the win.

Beloit 0, Peoria 1

  • Mick Fennell - 1-4, 2 K
  • Brian O’Keefe - 1-3, K
  • Juan Yepez - 0-3, K
  • Mike O’Reilly - (W) 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, BB, 9 K

Mike O’Reilly is putting together one heck of a season. He has video game numbers (7-2, 1.76 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, 10 BB, 67 K), he has held batters to a .171 batting average. He may not have big-time stuff, but he knows how to pitch.
