Here are some highlights of the weekend:

-The Memphis Redbirds are rolling this season. At 65-35, 30 games over the .500 mark, the Redbirds own the best record in Triple-A. They picked up three more wins over the weekend, taking games from the Las Vegas 51s.

-Sandy Alcantara was excellent in his start on Sunday, tossing seven scoreless innings for his sixth win as a member of the Springfield staff.

-Shortstop Aledmys Diaz continues to get his work in at Triple-A. This weekend for Memphis, 4-for-12 with two strikeouts.

-Jack Flaherty twirled 6 13 scoreless innings and struck out nine batters in his win over the weekend. He is now 2-1 in three Triple-A decisions.

-Third baseman Jacob Wilson doubled twice and drove in three runs for Springfield on Friday.

-Springfield outfielder Oscar Mercado had five hits in 13 at-bats this weekend, plating two runs. Mercado swiped two bases, scored four runs, and drove in two runs, as well.

-Patrick Wisdom launched his 22nd home run of the season for Memphis. He’s shattering his previous career-high: 15 long balls between Peoria and Palm Beach in 2013.

-Springfield second baseman Darren Seferina had seven hits this weekend, including his second double with the Cardinals, and scored three runs.

-We know Redbirds center fielder Harrison Bader can mash, but what is often forgotten is his ability to prowl the outfield. This weekend, Bader made two catches worthy of taking a second look at.
