These are dark days. I never would have imagined a four-game sweep at the hands of the Reds, nor would I have imagined only scoring nine total runs for the series in a ballpark that often plays like Coors Field East. Yet, it happened and after Wednesday’s loss Will Leitch asked the following question:
@Cardinals Legitimate question for crowd: This is the lowest Cardinals moment since ______? Gotta be the Torre/who-they-selling-to-era, no?

I tried to be a bit more conservative with my post yesterday, exploring whether this is the team’s lowest moment since 2007, but Leitch might be right. And that’s something. So Cardinals, start winning soon, please. We don’t want to return to 1995.
Here’s what else you may have missed yesterday at VEB:
- Here’s the farm report for yesterday. Kolten Wong hit a home run onto a city street in Peoria last night so that’s something to build on. And he’s supposed to be back with the club soon.
This is what @peoriachiefs fans came to see. #Cardinals 2B Kolten Wong blasts a homer out of Dozer Park. pic.twitter.com/dFg6pNQKg7

- This is cool. Carlos Martinez is teaming up with Fernando Tatis for a June 11 charity bowl for the Tsunami Waves Foundation. Click on this link to read up on it and to watch video of Tatis’s two grand slams in one inning at Dodger Stadium. Never gets old.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
