The Cardinals are making more draft picks as you read this, so be sure to follow rb's draft tracker, and well all of his draft coverage.

Triple A: Memphis 7 - Colorado Springs 4

  • Nick Martini (RF): 1-4, R, 2B, BB
  • Randal Grichuk (LF): 0-4, BB, K
  • Luke Voit (1B): 3-5, 2 RBI
  • Carson Kelly (C): 0-3, R, 2 BB
  • Paul DeJong (SS): 2-4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI
  • Harrison Bader (CF): 2-4, R, 2B, K
  • Patrick Wisdom (3B): 2-4, R, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
  • Josh Zeid (SP): 5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 R, 2 BB, 3 K
  • Mark Montgomery (RP): 3 IP, 3 K

Wisdom and DeJong's home runs were their 11th and 12th respectively. They are the Memphis team leaders and both in the top 12 in the PCL...Luke Voit's 3-5 night pushed his wRC+ over 150 for the season...Mark Montgomery has a 40/7 K/BB in 32.1 IP. He seems fairly well positioned for a call up with the big league club about to start a brutal stretch of games, especially with John Brebbia due for a trip back down to Memphis after getting used up yesterday.

Double A: Tulsa 8 - Springfield 1

  • Oscar Mercado (CF): 0-4, K, CS
  • Jose Adolis Garcia (LF): 2-4, K
  • Anthony Garcia (RF): 0-4
  • Jacob Wilson (3B): 0-3, BB, 2 K
  • Matt Pearce (SP): 5 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 2 K

Yuck...Not a single XBH for Springfield, nor an offensive highlight to be found...Matt Pearce reeled off a series of 7 starts that earned him the organization's pitcher of the month award for May, but that run came to an end last night with his first clunker in almost 6 weeks.

Class A Advanced: Dunedin 8 - Palm Beach 0

  • Randy Arozarena (LF): 1-4
  • Tommy Edman (SS): 2-4
  • Darren Seferina (DH): 0-2, BB, K
  • Austin Wilson (PH-DH): 1-1
  • Chris Chinea (1B): 0-4, K
  • Jeremy Martinez (C) : 0-4
  • Derian Gonzalez (SP): 0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 1 K
  • Brennan Leitao (RP): 2.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Yuck...Springfield couldn't muster an XBH either, and all 10 runners who reached failed to score...Tommy Edman still managed to look good...Jeremy Martinez is still not looking good...Derian Gonzalez threw 34 pitches, but was unable to escape the first, and it was all hands on deck after that.

Class A: Kane County 4 - Peoria 3

  • Andy Young (SS): 1-4, 2 RBI, K
  • Ryan McCarvel (1B): 0-3
  • Brian O'Keefe (C): 0-1, 3 BB, K
  • Juan Yepez (3B): 0-4, K
  • Dylan Carlson (RF): 2-4, 2 R, 2B, K
  • Mike O'Reilly (SP): 2.2 IP 4 H, 4 R, 4 BB, 2 K, 1 HR

Hey, it's Dylan Carlson. The youngest member of the extremely young outfield is walking just enough to keep his head above water, which is pretty impressive for an 18 year old in full season ball. A few more XBH would be fine too...Mike O'Reilly has come of nowhere this season to become one of the more interesting pitching prospects in the low minors, but like Matt Pearce in AA his run of impressive starts came to an end last night. The most impressive thing about him so far as a pro has been his microscopic BB%, but last night he doubled his walk total for the season by issuing 4 free passes.
