Cardinals news and notes: Braves, Kelly, and the Derby

So how about those Cardinals? They got us cheap drinks today. That is important and serious business. Anyway, before and after this, VEB had some stuff that was produced. Here it is.

• I wrote about Shelby Miller, Jason Heyward, and how the most recent results of players the Braves flipped for Miller imply that the trade of the two players may have been mutually beneficial.
• Craig Edwards wrote about how the next three Cardinals games are against the Atlanta Braves and folks, I’m not really one to disagree here.
• Josey Curtis recapped Thursday on the farm for the Cardinals, which included standout performances from AAA catcher Carson Kelly and AA pitcher Matt Pearce.
• Ebo evaluated the internal options to replace Dexter Fowler and Stephen Piscotty if their injuries force them to miss significant time.
• Craig Edwards recorded a 28th edition of Facebook Live, answering questions about the Cardinals. As a current St. Louis Blues playoff beard grower, I do not think I am allowed to mock his Flaming Lips-ish quality like I normally would. This is probably mean so this is probably a very good thing.
• Hey, did you know the Kentucky Derby is today? Well, I didn’t until yesterday’s Lil Scooter post about Cardinals players adopting Derby attire. And now, you know too.
• Last night, the Cardinals beat the Braves, who shall henceforth in this post be known as the Barves, 10-0. Jon Snowzeliak recapped the Cardinals/Barves “game”.

That’s the stuff. Hopefully the Cardinals maintain their domination tendencies against the Atlanta Braves.
