Cardinals news and notes: Pitching, the farm, and the Cubs

Here’s what happened at VEB over the weekend.

• Ben Markham wrote about the pitching prospects in the Cardinals organization. How many pitching prospects are there in the Cardinals organization, you may be asking? Well, if Ben is to be believed, and really why wouldn’t he be, the answer is greater than one.
• Along similar lines, the red baron examined the Cardinals’ organizational philosophy of building around pitching and whether or not this is the wisest plan.
• Josey Curtis wrote about Cardinals minor league efforts, notably those of pitchers Luke Weaver and Jack Flaherty.
• The Cardinals, as you may or may not have heard, played the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.
