Discussing catcher framing with some other VEBers is the reason for this post. The idea is that some people don't believe when baseball prospectus claims that catcher framing data stabilizes after a couple of weeks. What I intend to do is post catcher framing data from the 10 catchers who framed the most pitches last season each month.
So far, Buster Posey and Lucroy seem to have fallen off of a cliff from their season a year ago. This would be another huge drop off for Lucroy, who was a top 5 framer in 2013 and a top 20 in 2014. This is a huge dropoff for Posey, who came up as an average framer, but has been a top 10 framer the last couple of seasons. Wilson Ramos is currently out with a torn ACL.
