How about that opening game for the St. Louis Cardinals against the Chicago Cubs game, am I right or am I right? No, no, I will not stand by for your wild accusations that I wrote this entire post before the Cardinals game, and before the major St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators hockey game for that matter, aside from the game story link so that I could sit back and enjoy the games without having to do anything during them. How dare you even imply that?
Anyway, here is the stuff that happened on Viva El Birdos over the weekend, all of which happened in the past tense from this moment, which is...it’s not even “after the Cardinals game”, it’s actually just minutes before 6 a.m. This is how this thing works.
- The (at the time unofficial, now official) extension of Yadier Molina opened up questions about how the Cardinals should handle catching prospect Carson Kelly, questions which Ben Markham addressed.
- We (I) concluded the All-Time Cardinals Bracket, and to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Stan Musial won it.
- Craig Edwards helped unveil Carlos Martinez’s VEB community projections. Turns out VEB likes him. Who could’ve guessed?
- The red baron wrote two sentences about every team in baseball, which probably will make it his shortest post of the year (I kid because I care).
- Craig also wrote that the Cardinals will play three games against the Cubs. ENORMOUS if true.
- Oh, and the actual game happened too. Here’s the recap courtesy of VanHicklestein.
Baseball! Go baseball!
