A bunch of playoff baseball games happened this weekend. That’s fun! None of them involved the St. Louis Cardinals. Less fun! But things could happen in the off-season which lead to future Cardinals postseason games. That’s...possible? Yeah, let’s go with it. Here’s what happened at VEB over the weekend.
- Ben Markham looked at an impending free agent, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder J.D. Martinez, and compared his game to that of a more famous and slightly more productive player, Miami Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton.
- The red baron explored “the big bat”, the cliche used frequently to describe what the Cardinals should seek in the off-season, and questioned whether the Cardinals need a big bat in particular or just general improvement across the roster.
- Josey Curtis took a look at the Johnson City Cardinals, the Cardinals’ rookie ball affiliate, and recapped the 2017 season for some of the team’s less polished but nevertheless intriguing prospects.
More meaningful baseball is coming today. That should be fun.
