Yadier Molina has been the backstop for the Cardinals for many seasons now. Pitchers have come and gone, but there has been one constant member of the battery and he is it. He has seen some things, he knows some stuff, he is good at what he does, and his pitchers appreciate him for it.
ANYWAY
While it cannot be quantified entirely, Molina’s presence behind the plate has probably contributed positively to the growth of the young Cardinals pitchers. This includes Carlos Martinez, and Carlos appreciates Molina for it:
