Triple-A: Nashville 6 -- Memphis 7
- Charlie Tilson, CF, 0-for-4, BB, K
- Harrison Bader, LF, 1-for-5, 2B, 2 Ks, R
- David Washington, 1B, 0-for-4, BB, 2 Ks
- Jacob Wilson, 3B, 0-for-3, BB
- Miguel Socolovich, 1 1/3 IP, 4 Hits, HR, 2 ER
In case you missed it, this was Harrison Bader's first game for Memphis. He hit .286/.350/.491 for Springfield prior to his promotion.
Double-A: Corpus Christi 7 -- Springfield 5
- Anthony Garcia, RF, 0-for-3, BB, RBI
- Paul DeJong, DH, 0-for-4, R
- Juan Herrera, SS, 0-for-3, BB, R, RBI
Anthony Garcia has hit much better since getting demoted to Springfield in May. However, his power is behind what he's shown before, though it's a pretty small sample. Still, after the breakout success he had last season, it has been a bit disappointing to see him stumble early this year.
Class A Advanced: Palm Beach 0 -- Jupiter 4
- Darren Seferina, DH, 1-for-4
- Andrew Sohn, 2B, 1-for-2, BB, 2 SBs, CS
- Oscar Mercado, SS, 0-for-3
Palm Beach was nearly no-hit, as they only managed two hits (both singles) in the game. They only struck out twice, so plenty of balls were in play, but it looks like they were BABIP'd pretty hard.
Class A: Kane County 1 -- Peoria 2
- Magneuris Sierra, CF, 2-for-4, 2B, R, SB
- Edmundo Sosa, SS, 1-for-2, 2 BBs
- Eliezer Alvares, 2B, 2-for-4, CS
- Dailyn Martinez, 6 2/3 IP, 7 Ks, 3 BBs, 8 Hits
This was Martinez's 2nd start in a full season league. This one went much better, as he only managed to get two outs last time.
Class A Short-Season: State College 7 -- Tri-City 5
- Tommy Edman, SS, 1-for-3, HR, 3 BBs, 3 RBI, 2 Runs
- Jose Martinez, 2B, 3-for-5, 2B, BB, RBI, CS
- Mick Fennell, DH, 2-for-2, 2B, 2 BBs, R (Round 22, 2016, California University of Pennsylvania)
That home run is Edman's first in 15 games.
The Spikes won this one in the 11th inning.
Rookie DSL: DSL Braves 5 -- DSL Cardinals 3
- Carlos Soto, C, 2-for-4, 2B, R, RBI
- Brian Sanchez, RF, 2-for-4, K, R
This was Soto's first game with the organization, after signing as an international free agent on July 2nd. He debuted in the 3-spot in the lineup.
