Craig Edwards discusses first round of MLB Draft, Delvin Perez, PEDs

New, comments

In a live video, Managing Editor Craig Edwards discusses the Cardinals draft and a few other Cardinals related topics.

The Cardinals made a few surprising selections on the first night of the MLB Draft. I talked about the Cardinals first few selections and answered a few other questions people had on the Cardinals.

Topics Included:

  • Top pick Delvin Perez, his potential as well as the controversy surrounding his positive PED test.
  • Compensation pick Dylan Carlson, a switch hitting high school power hitter.
  • Compensation pick Dakota Hudson, an intriguing right-hander from Mississippi State who seemed to have slipped in the draft.
  • Second round pick Connor Jones, who looked good in 2015, but pitched to contact a lot more in 2016 without missing as many bats.
  • Non-draft questions included overworking Aledmys Diaz and Yadier Molina, the status of Wacha in the rotation, the struggles of Randal Grichuk, and the success of Matt Adams.
