The recap:
It might be small sample size, but so far in June, the story is this: different month, same ol' Cards.
A 28-pitch first inning set the tone for Jaime Garcia, and the contest that was on Wednesday afternoon. Zach Davies, Garcia's opposition, held St. Louis to just three hits over 8 innings, striking out nine Redbirds while throwing 105 pitches.
The lone bright spot for St. Louis was a Brandon Moss solo home run in the top of the 9th inning off of Milwaukee closer Jeremy Jeffress. Jeffress earned his 13th save of the season.
St. Louis falls to 28-26, as they head home to play the Giants on Friday.
