Hello everyone. A quick programming note before we get into the recaps; Josey's weekend wrap-up post will run on Tuesday instead of Monday because of the Holliday.

Triple-A: Memphis 8 - Salt Lake 4

  • Charlie Tilson (LF): 4-5, R, 2B
  • Tommy Pham (CF): 3-3, R, 2B, 2 RBI
  • David Washington (1B): 1-4, RBI, 2B
  • Patrick Wisdom (SS): 1-3, R, RBI, BB, K
  • Jonathan Rodriguez (3B): 2-4, 2 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI
  • Deck McGuire (SP): 7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 K
  • Corey Littrell (RP): 1 IP, 1, H, 1 K

Pat Wisdom played SS in the absence of Greg Garcia for the second straight game...DECK...David Washington was somehow held homerless...Jon Rodriguez picked up the slack with two homers, however. He has been David Washington Lite, with 7 HR, a 30% K rate, 7% BB rate and an ISO just over .200.

Double A: Springfield 9 - Midland 1

  • Bruce Caldwell (DH): 1-5, R, K
  • Harrison Bader (CF): 2-5, R, HR, 2 RBI, 3 K
  • Luke Voit (1B): 2-3, 2 R, 2B, HR, RBI, BB
  • Paul Dejong (3B): 1-4, R, RBI, K
  • Carson Kelly (C): 3-4, R, HR, 3 RBI
  • Mike Mayers (SP): 7.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 10 K, 1 HR

Harrison Bader was moved to 3rd in the lineup and responded with a Bader Bomb... Louis Linwood Voit is old for his league and is limited to 1B/DH, but the local product has hit at every level, which is what he'll need to do to keep his professional baseball career alive...As friend of the DFR, guayzimi, has pointed out, Carson Kelly may be good...Mike Mayers had his best start of the season. He continues to work his way back into the fringes of prospectdom after losing most of the season with an arm strain last year.

A Advanced: Fort Myers 6 - Palm Beach 2

  • Casey Turgeon (DH): 0-4, RBI, BB
  • Blake Drake (CF): 2-4, R
  • Oscar Mercado (SS): 2-4, 2B, K
  • Austin Gomber (SP): 7 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 6 K

Like his AA counterpart, Mike Mayers, Austin Gomber's game is about limiting walks and hard contact. Last night he was able to pitch around 7 hits, but his bullpen let him down with an 8th inning meltdown.

Class A: Peoria 4 - Kane County 3

  • Magneuris Sierra (CF): 2-5, 2B, K, SB
  • Thomas Spitz (RF): 1-3, R, 2 BB, K
  • Edmundo Sosa (SS): 1-4, R, 2 RBI
  • R.J. Denard (1B): 0-3, BB, 2 K
  • Vaughn Bryan (LF): 1-4, 2B, 2 K
  • Ryan Helsley (SP): 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 5 K

Chiefs players Thomas Spitz and R.J. Denard extinguished a house fire when lightning struck their bedroom at their host family's house. Spitz and Denard helped put the fire out, saving the house...Ryan Helsley is off to a strong start with a 25% K rate and 5% BB rate.
