The Cards affiliates managed a split last night and Springfield was rained out. Also thanks to Josey Curtis for taking charge of the weekend farm reports.

Triple-A: Memphis 5 - Sacramento 1

  • Charlie Tilson (CF): 1-3, RBI, K
  • Greg Garcia (3B): 0-4, K
  • Anthony Garcia (LF): 1-3, 2 R, BB, K
  • David Washington (1B): 2-2, 2 R, 2 BB
  • Mike Ohlman (C): 2-3, R, 2 RBI, K
  • Mike Mayers (SP): 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 4 K
  • Miguel Socolovich (RP): 1 IP, BB, 2 K

David Washington continues to do his three true outcomes thing, his BB% and K% have moved in the wrong direction since he moved up to Memphis, but he has an ISO north of .280 and 8 homers on the year...Mike Mayers is trying to get things back on track after battling injuries last year. He was promoted to Memphis to replace Kiekhefer and slid into the Redbird rotation.

Double A: Tulsa @ Springfield - PPD

A Advanced: Lakeland 5 - Palm Beach 1

  • Vaughn Bryan (RF): 1-4, R, BB, K, SB
  • Oscar Mercado (SS): 1-4, 2 K
  • Blake Drake (CF): 1-4, RBI
  • Jacob Evans (SP): 7 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

The Palm Beach offense continues to struggle even by Florida State League standards. They are last in the league in scoring home runs, and the five homers they've hit as a team are half the total of Brevard County who are second from the bottom...Jacob Evan was unable pitch around multiple errors in the 3rd, and an Oscar Mercado error to start the 6th came back to bite Palm Beach as Lakeland broke the game open with a 3 run, 2 out double.
