If you ever had any doubt that Yadier Molina and the Cardinals were going to try and get the Cardinals catcher ready for Opening Day, let today's lineup erase all doubts. After undergoing two offseason surgeries, Joe Schwarz practically begged the Cardinals not to rush Yadi back. Yadi wants to play, and although he cannot yet hit in the game, it appears he willing be playing.
Mike Leake is making his first appearance for the Cardinals with Matt Holliday back with another attempt at first base and Jedd Gyorko continuing his audition to be the shortstop on Opening Day. Today's game is Fox Sports Midwest and MLB.tv with the radio on KMOX. Full spring training television schedule can be found here.
Here is the lineup, courtesy of Daniel Doelling:
Molina will hit ninth in the order so as long as the Cardinals do not bat around in the first inning, that will give him at least two innings behind the plate. After Leake, Marco Gonzales, Corey Littrell, Kevin Siegrist, Matt Bowman, Jonathan Broxton, Trevor Rosenthal, and Miguel Socolovich are listed as potential pitchers.
Enjoy the game!
