In his last Spring Training start before the regular season begins on Sunday, Adam Wainwright will go up against the Nationals. We are getting to the stage in Spring Training, if we were not already there, where we really just want the season to start and get the real games going. We were so happy just to have pitchers and catchers report, and it was really neat to see the Cardinals on television playing baseball. Now, those things are not good enough. We want real action. It is just five days away.
Yadier Molina, who sat out yesterday after dropping a weight on his foot, is likely to play today. Matt Holliday is at first base while Brandon Moss is out in left field. It is difficult to say if this is potentially the preferred alignment when both are playing or if the team is just trying to get Holliday as many reps as possible at first base. Stephen Piscotty has the day off and Jedd Gyorko is in at shortstop.
