Jaime Garcia skipped his last scheduled start for the big-league club, instead opting to pitch on the back fields so he could better simulate certain game situations that might not necessarily happen in a Spring Training game. With those issues worked on, Garcia heads back to the mound for the Cardinals against the Marlins. With the regular season just seven days away and only four official exhibition games after today, this will likely be Garcia's final start in a Spring Training game before the regular season.
The game will be aired on Fox Sports Midwest and MLB.tv.
Jedd Gyorko gets the start at shortstop with Matt Adams at first base and Brandon Moss in left field as the Cardinals have yet to play their hand regarding playing time at first base. Tommy Pham gets the start in center field with what is now the typical 1-2 alignment of Matt Carpenter followed by Stephen Piscotty.
