Editor's Note: Two years ago, Site Manager Ben Humphrey asked readers to provide predictions for Cardinals baseball players. Last year, he renewed that request, and although Ben is in blogger retirement, we at VEB renewed the request to predict how the Cardinals will do. The answers are now in.
We received 50 results for Jaime Garcia. This is what we said when we requested your input.

Garcia began last season as more of a figment of our collective imaginations than realistic option for the Cardinals' rotation. Injuries had marred an incredibly promising career, and it looked like the Cardinals and Garcia were headed to a disappointing end to the contract extension he signed way back during the 2011 season. Garcia kept working despite all of the surgeries and helped form one of the best pitching staffs in baseball despite losing the team ace early in the season.
This is how he did last season:
Jaime Garcia | GS | IP | K/9 | BB/9 | ERA | FIP | WAR |
2015 | 20 | 129.2 | 6.73 | 2.08 | 2.43 | 3.00 | 2.8 |
The Cardinals picked up Garcia's option after last year and they have another one for 2017 if he pitches well again this season. Garcia has always pitched well when healthy so your projection for him this season is very likely based on whether you believe he will stay healthy for the Cardinals this season. His Steamer, ZiPS, and FanGraphs Depth Chart Projections can be found on his FanGraphs player page.
