Adam Wainwright is headed back to the mound as the Cardinals take on the Tigers for the second straight day. Wainwright went four innings in his last start, so we will see if he can match or exceed that today. Carlos Martinez pitched into the third inning in his start yesterday. His velocity is there as are his offspeed pitches but the command is about where you would expect it to be in his second spring training start.
We are now down to 16 days until Opening Day against the Pirates and several battles have yet to provide a real leader. The Moss/Adams battle at first base has a new entrant in Matt Holliday, which has also meant more Tommy Pham. Shortstop continues to be between Aledmys Diaz and Jedd Gyorko.
This game will be on Fox Sports Midwest and MLB.tv with radio on KMOX.
Here is the lineup:

Today also marks the second day of the NCAA tournament. I will be cheering for Iowa. You are allowed to root for whichever team you want or none at all.
Enjoy the day!
