After no Cardinals appeared in the Desert Dogs’ game on Tuesday, five appeared in Glendale’s game on Wednesday against the Mesa Solar Sox.

Desert Dogs 7, Solar Sox 4

  • Harrison Bader (RF): 0-5
  • Carson Kelly (C): 1-3, BB, 2 RBIs
  • Paul DeJong (SS): 0-4, 3 Ks
  • Ryan Sherriff (RP): 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
  • Rowan Wick (RP): 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

With five runs in the top of the fourth inning, the Desert Dogs beat the Solar Sox on Wednesday afternoon by a 7-4 final score.

Chris Anderson of the Dodgers’ organization picked up the win on Wednesday, as he held the Solar Sox to one run over five solid innings. Despite the outing, Anderson still owns an earned run average of 9.00 over his four Arizona Fall League starts, during which he has allowed thirteen earned runs over as many innings.

Anderson and four relievers -- Ralston Cash of the Dodgers, David Paulino of the Astros, and Rowan Wick and Ryan Sherriff of the Cardinals -- were supported by seven Desert Dogs runs, three of them earned. The ‘Dogs scored five of their runs off Solar Sox starter Michael Peoples, who was only charged with two earned runs, as two errors were committed in the field behind him.

No Cardinals appeared in Tuesday’s game; in turn, all position players and two pitchers made it into Wednesday’s contest. Harrison Bader and Paul DeJong went a combined 0-for-9, while Carson Kelly collected an RBI in four trips to the plate. Relievers Ryan Sherriff and Rowan Wick allowed three earned runs across their two total frames, but Glendale’s sturdy cushion of run support was enough to absorb that.

On Thursday, the Desert Dogs will take on the Scottsdale Scorpions at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. Austin Voth of the Nationals’ organization will get the start for the Desert Dogs against Corey Oswalt of the Mets.
