Cardinals news and notes: Marlins, Hwang, and the Fall League

It’s mid-November and Cardinals news is kind of slow. Let’s call it the calm before the storm.

Eventually, big names are going to switch teams. Yoenis Cespedes, Dexter Fowler, Edwin Encarnacion, Justin Turner, and many others will eventually switch teams. Until that happens, though, we are left with blind speculation and hopes and dreams. And some posts from VEB over the weekend. Here is them.

Miami Marlins

Ben Markham looked at the strengths and weaknesses of the Cardinals’ current depth as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the Marlins’ depth chart and considered that the two teams could be viable trade partners.

Jae-Gyun Hwang

The red baron evaluated Korean third baseman Jae-Gyun Hwang and how he would translate to Major League Baseball and perhaps, eventually, to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Arizona Fall League

On Friday, Harrison Bader led the charge in the Arizona Fall League. On Saturday, Paul DeJong was a prominent star, and for both games, Josey Curtis did the VEB recapping.

Anyway, that’s about it. Perhaps this will be the week in which the Cardinals sign every free agent and trade for every player you ever wanted.
