Arizona Fall League: Harrison Bader Drives in Four as Desert Dogs Win Big

On Wednesday, the Glendale Desert Dogs took on the Salt River Rafters.

After a 13-3 defeat on Tuesday, the Desert Dogs scored a double-digit sum of runs of their own to rout the Salt River Rafters, 10-0, in a Wednesday afternoon affair.

Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader led the way on Wednesday for the Desert Dogs by driving in four runs, including two on a two-out triple in the top of the sixth inning to account for the final two tallies of Glendale’s ten-run day. Bader is batting .310 with four extra-base hits and thirteen RBIs through fifteen Arizona Fall League games.

Austin Voth of the Nationals’ organization pitched five shutout innings for the Desert Dogs to pick up his second win in six starts this fall. At 24, Voth logged 157 innings during the regular season and pitched to a very respectable 3.15 earned run average and strikeout-to-walk ratio of 133:57.

On Thursday, the Desert Dogs will take on the Surprise Saguaros at 1:35 p.m. CT and give the ball to Cardinals lefty Austin Gomber, who owns a 1.99 earned run average through five starts this fall. Gomber will face Tanner Anderson of the Pirates, who has whiffed thirteen batters in a handful of starts this exhibition season.
