On Wednesday evening, the Glendale Desert Dogs squared off with the Salt River Rafters.
Rafters 4, Desert Dogs 2
- Carson Kelly (DH): 0-3
- Paul DeJong (SS): 1-4, 2 K
- Harrison Bader (PH): 0-1, K
- Corey Littrell (RP): 1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K (pitched the seventh inning)
With two runs in the top of the seventh inning, the Rafters took Wednesday evening’s contest with the Desert Dogs by a 4-2 final score.
Facing Cardinals farmhand Corey Littrell, shortstop Dylan Moore of the Braves’ organization launched a two-run home run to left-center field to break the 2-2 tie and put the Rafters on top for good. Moore, who was drafted in 2015, crushed fourteen long balls across three levels of Atlanta’s farm system and stole 42 bases.
Like Littrell, the Cardinals’ position players in this game struggled; Designated hitter Carson Kelly went 0-for-3, shortstop Paul DeJong whiffed twice, and Harrison Bader was struck out in his pinch-hit appearance in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Desert Dogs will host the Mesa Solar Sox at 1:35 p.m. CT at Camelback Ranch in Glendale. Nolan Sanburn of the White Sox organization is slated to face off with Dylan Covey of the Athletics. Sanburn, in 81 2/3 innings of work between two levels this season, posted a 3.53 ERA in 37 games, five, of which, were starts. Covey was limited to just six games and starts this year by an injury, but he did show potential in those six starts: a 1.84 ERA with 26 punchouts in 29 1/3 frames.
