Cardinals news and notes: Votto, Fernandez, and the VEB Awards

So, how about those Cardinals? Yeah, I know they didn’t play yesterday, or the day before, or the week before, but the Sun never sets on the Viva El Birdos empire. And here’s some stuff that happened over the weekend.

Joey Votto

Ben Markham wrote a post advocating that the St. Louis Cardinals try to acquire Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto. He called it a crazy idea, but you know who else had “crazy ideas”? Me, when I advocated that the Cardinals sign Gerardo Parra, but let’s not talk about that right now.
