The first-place St. Louis Cardinals and second-place Pittsburgh Pirates were slated to square off this evening at PNC Park. It would have been a high-drama contest because the Cardinals lead the Pirates by four games with five to play for both teams. After the Cardinals' dramatic victory on Monday night, their magic number sits at two—meaning that a win against the Pirates would mathematically eliminate Pittsburgh and clinch the division title.
But Mother Nature has dictated other plans: a doubleheader on Wednesday. Tonight's scheduled game has been postponed. The Cardinals and Pirates will play two tomorrow.
Tonight's game is postponed due to inclement weather in Pittsburgh. Spilt doubleheader Wednesday; Game 1: 12:35 pm CT Game 2: 6:05 pm CT
