You may be wondering to yourself why Tyler Lyons is starting tonight's game and Michael Wacha is not. The Cardinals have decided to bank some innings by giving Wacha a turn-of-the-rotation off, per St. Louis Post-Dispatch beat writer Derrick Goold.

Martinez will start Friday. Wacha won't this weekend. Lackey, Garcia also against #pirates. No Lynn. Getting added time to rest ankle.
