The St. Louis Cardinals (54-29) trotted out an underwhelming lineup in the first half of their doubleheader agains the Chicago Cubs (45-37) at Wrigley Field today. The result was not surprising: Chicago won 7-4. The loss in the standings was not the only one the Cards suffered, though, as Kolten Wong suffered a "head contusion" in the parlance of DL-speak. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold reports that Wong is likely unavailable tonight, which means we get a 2013 throwback start for Matt Carpenter at the keystone as the Cardinals look to salvage a split of the doubleheader and ensure at least a split of the clubs' four-game series.
