Two of the St. Louis Cardinals top pitching prospects, Alex Reyes and Marco Gonzales, made rehab starts. Two Cardinals infield prospects had multi-hit efforts as well.

Scores:

San Antonio 8 - Springfield 5

Palm Beach 5 - Tampa 2

Peoria 7 - Clinton 2

State College 7 - Tri-City 2

DSL Cardinals 11 - DSL Astros Orange 13

GCL Cardinals 2 - GCL Mets 1

Cardinals Highlights:

Alex Reyes (SP, RK): 3 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Alex Reyes made a rehab start for the Cards GCL club yesterday. He retired all 9 batters he faced, striking out 3. If he is to be believed he felt pretty good too.

Marco Gonzales (SP, A+): 2.2 IP,  4 H, 2 R, , 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Corey Littrell (SP, A+): 6.1 IP,  4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K
Marco Gonzales allowed 4 hits in his rehab start yesterday, that and some sloppy defense behind him led to two unearned runs. Corey Littrell came in to help put out the fire in the 3rd and then decided to stick around the rest of the game. Littrell has now gone almost two months without walking a batter and has struck out 25 batters over his last 4 appearances (24 IP).

Danny Diekroeger (3B, A+): 2-4, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, K

Danny Diekroeger's double and home run were his fourth and fifth extra base hits in his 11 games since being called up to Palm Beach.

Oscar Mercado (SS, A): 2-3, 2 R, K, 2 SB, CS

Oscar Mercado has only 1 walk and 1 extra base hit this month. His 31st and 32nd stolen bases last night did give him lead in stolen bases for the season in the Midwest League.
