On May 31, 2014 Oscar Taveras made his highly anticipated big league debut. On that date, Oscar proved he was worth the wait.
Oscar Taveras time about to begin in StL. Word from a source in Memphis is that he is on his way to the majors. #STLCards STLCards

By my precise calculations, Oscar Taveras is currently on pace to hit 107 homers, cure cancer, and ascend to the throne at King's Landing.

That's not rain. The universe weeps with joy as Oscar Taveras unloads on his first major league homer.

On Sunday, the anniversary of Oscar's debut, there was also anticipation caused by Oscar, but of a less joyful variety. On October 26, 2014 Oscar Taveras, along with his girlfriend, Edilia Arvelo, was killed in automobile accident in his home town of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Tragically, his home run in the rain on his major league debut is one of the few precious memories we have with him. We intended to do that memory justice.
