Jaime Garcia last pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals 11 months ago, on June 20, 2014. Since then, Garcia was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome. He then underwent thoracic outlet release syndrome to give the blood vessels and nerves that emerge from his torso more room as they enter his throwing arm. The lefty will start for the Cardinals today at Citi Field against the New York Mets. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. CT.
#STLCards option RHP Sam Tuivailala to Memphis and activate LHP Jaime Garcia from 15-day DL. Garcia to make his season debut today.
