In case you missed the news: After being sidelined with extreme fatigue, Matt Carpenter has rejoined the St. Louis Cardinals in Cleveland and will start tonight's game against the Indians. During a conference call on Monday with media members, general manager John Mozeliak gave various updates on Cardinals with injury issues. One was Jon Jay, who has what Mozeliak labeled a "bruised left thumb," per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the GM indicated he would be a game-time decision today. Manager Mike Matheny released the St. Louis starting lineup early this afternoon and it is Jay-less behind starter Lance Lynn (who, thankfully, will not take an at-bat due to the DH rule governing in the American League ballpark).
Regarding the slated St. Louis starters this series:
#STLCards starters this series are Lynn-Lackey-Wacha. It's really fun to rapidly say those 3 names together. Try it.
