The St. Louis Cardinals announced a series of rosters moves Friday afternoon. St. Louis placed outfielder Tommy Pham on the 60-day DL, which opened a spot on the club's 40-man roster for righthanded reliever Miguel Socolovich. To make room for Socolovich on the 25-man active roster, the Cardinals demoted Tim Cooney to Triple-A Memphis. Barring injury, Cooney must stay in the minors for at least ten days so the next time Adam Wainwright's rotation turn comes around it will be either Carlos Villanueva or Tyler Lyons taking the ball. For what it's worth:
Carlos Villanueva has not been told he will be the starter Tuesday for thw #STLCards, but he seems to be leading candidate. #bndcards
