Northwest Arkansas 5 - Springfield 0

Notables:
  • Charlie Tilson (CF): 0-4
  • Jacob Wilson (2B): 1-4
  • Jonathan Rodriguez (1B): 2-4, 2B, 2 K, SB
  • Breyvic Valera (LF): 0-4, 2 K
  • Kyle Hald (SP): 2 IP
  • Jonathan Cornelius (RP): 4 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
  • Chris Thomas (RP): 2 IP, 4 K
Last night's 0-4 ended an 8 game hitting streak for Charlie Tilson...Reliever Chris Thomas pitched very well across at three levels in 2014, he still isn't racking up strikeouts in AA the way he was at both levels of A ball last year, but he has remained stingy with the free passes. He has struck out 8 and walked only one batter so far in 2015. He has walked 7 batters in 39.2 total innings in the Texas League...Springfield has had an ugly start to the season. The S-Cards have the worst record in the Texas League and are already 5 games out of second-to-last place in their division. The highest scoring team in the league, Corpus Christi, has already scored more than twice as many runs (124) as Springfield (61), and the S-Cards 100 runs allowed is only three off the mark for most in the league.

Beloit 5 - Peoria 4

Notables:
  • Magneuris Sierra (CF): 0-3, R, BB, K
  • Oscar Mercado (SS): 1-3, 2 R, 2B, 2 SB
  • Danny Diekroeger (3B): 1-1
  • Justin Ringo (DH): 1-2, RBI, BB
  • Alex De Leon (1B): 1-4, R, HR, 2 RBI
  • Blake Drake (RF/LF): 1-3, BB
  • Austin Gomber (SP): 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
Both of Oscar Mercado's stolen bases came during the same at-bat. He stole second and third after reaching on an HBP, and came in to score on a sacrifice. His 10 steals this year leads the Midwest League...Oscar Mercado hasn't reached base via walk since September of last year...Austin Gomber's 7 inning outing last night was tied for the longest of his career. It was the 2nd start of 4 this year in which he hasn't issued a walk.
