I have never been to an Opening Day at Busch Stadium, but I have heard good things. The Clydesdales, the Hall of Famers, the player introductions, the inevitable rainfall are all a cherished part of the Home Opener experience. Here is a quick timeline events for those of you able to witness it all in person!
- 11:00 a.m. - Pre-game pep rally begins
- 1:15 p.m. - Gates open
- 2:30 p.m.- Pre-game ceremonies begin
Willie McGee to throw out the first pitch to Ozzie Smith, a tribute to the late Oscar Taveras, and a moment of silence for Taveras as well as Bryan Burwell of the St. Louis Post Dispatch - 3:15 p.m. - Adam Wainwright takes the mound in his fourth home-opener start; play ball!
