The St. Louis Cardinals (3-2) return home after opening the season on a weeklong (five-game) road trip to host the Milwaukee Brewers (1-5). The postponement of Tuesday's scheduled game at Wrigley Field resulted in the Cardinals pushing each of their starters back one day. As a result Adam Wainwright will start the Cards' home opener today at Busch Stadium over a week after taking the ball on opening night against the Cubs. Matt Garza is slated to take the mound for the Brew Crew.
All of this is subject to the "weather permitting" qualifier. The Clydesdales making the trip around the Busch warning track is in jeopardy. As of this writing, the forecast called for rain on Monday in St. Louis with a 60% chance of thunderstorms.
